On the first Wednesday of most months, I drive an hour south to Martin Memorial Hospital for the Treasure Coast Nu Voice club. Russ and Wendy Buhl, Charlie and Ellie Nail, Bud and Ellie Smith are just some of the members I love seeing.

They are a very active club with monthly speakers, picnics, and other activities. They start out every meeting with the pledge of allegiance (which does not feel corny, it feels great) and the Laryngectomee prayer.

From November 11th to the 13th Les, myself and nine other couples played golf in Sebring FL in the geezer couples league. We had a great time. We are officially geezers.

At seven thirty on Friday November 14th we went up on the 11th floor roof top of our condo building and watched the Space Shuttle Endeavor lift off some 120 miles north of us. It was spectacular even at that distance and we watched it fade out for almost fifteen minutes.

On November 17th I was picked to be on a jury with 6 women to try an assault and battery with a lethal weapon case. It took three days and ended at 7:00 pm with a sad guilty verdict. All seven of us felt a lot more compassion for the guilty woman than the sleaze ball she was trying to drive over with her car.

On November 20th I was asked to speak to six ninth grade classes from 7:30 am until 2:45 pm about the dangers of smoking, drugs and the importance of getting an education. This was the third year I have spoken at John Carroll Catholic High in Fort Pierce.

Seven years ago I was filmed by a Human Relations Firm in conjunction with The American Lung Association and a young man Brandon Carmichael from Fargo North Dakota to present the dangers of smoking via film to schools across the country. The film is very powerful and gives me a 22 minute break from speaking during each presentation. You could hear a pin drop when the film is playing even in rowdy schools. I have already been asked to speak there again next year.

For Thanksgiving we made another round trip to South Carolina To be with friends.

Hi Bob,

I am thinking you want a blog space. This woukld be simple to setup and I am going to setup a blog for everyone and move the BOD space to blogs.

We can talk about this more. When you have something like this, maybe a blog is better. You asked about it and I said, we can decide later or split it up later. I think I will do it and we can see how it works out.
